PhilemonAmplified Bible (AMP) Salutation
1
Paul, a prisoner [for the sake] of Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed), and our
brother Timothy,
To Philemon our dearly beloved friend and fellow worker, 2 and to
[your wife] Apphia our sister, and to [
a]
Archippus our fellow soldier [in ministry], and to the
[
b]church that meets in your [c]
house: 3 Grace to you and peace [inner calm
and spiritual well-being] from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Philemon’s Love and Faith
4 I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers,
5 because I hear of your love and of your faith which you have toward the
Lord Jesus and toward all the [
d]saints (God’s people). 6 I pray that the
sharing of your faith may become effective and powerful because of your accurate
knowledge of every good thing which is ours in Christ. 7 For I have
had great joy and comfort and encouragement from your love, because the
hearts of the saints (God’s people) have been refreshed through you, my brother.
PhilemonAmplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)1 Paul, a
prisoner [for the sake] of Christ Jesus (the Messiah), and our brother Timothy,
to Philemon our dearly beloved sharer with us in our work,
2 And to Apphia our sister and Archippus our fellow soldier [in the
Christian warfare], and to the church [assembly that meets] in your house:
3 Grace (spiritual blessing and favor) be to all of you and [heart]
peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).
4 I give thanks to my God for you always when I mention you in my
prayers,
5 Because I continue to hear of your love and of your loyal faith
which you have toward the Lord Jesus and [which you show] toward all the saints
(God’s consecrated people).
6 [And I pray] that the participation in and sharing of your
faith may produce and promote full recognition and appreciation and
understanding and precise knowledge of every good [thing] that is ours
in [our identification with] Christ Jesus [and unto His glory].
7 For I have derived great joy and comfort and encouragement
from your love, because the hearts of the saints [who are your fellow
Christians] have been cheered and refreshed through you, [my] brother.

PhilemonThe Message (MSG)
1-3
I, Paul, am a prisoner
for the sake of Christ, here with my brother Timothy. I write this letter to
you, Philemon, my good friend and companion in this work—also to our sister
Apphia, to Archippus, a real trooper, and to the church that meets in your
house. God’s best to you! Christ’s blessings on you!
4-7 Every time your name comes up in my prayers, I say, “Oh, thank
you, God!” I keep hearing of the love and faith you have for the Master Jesus,
which brims over to other believers. And I keep praying that this faith we hold
in common keeps showing up in the good things we do, and that people recognize
Christ in all of it. Friend, you have no idea how good your love makes me feel,
doubly so when I see your hospitality to fellow believers.

PhilemonLiving Bible (TLB)
1-2 From: Paul, in jail for preaching the Good
News about Jesus Christ, and from Brother Timothy.
To: Philemon, our much-loved fellow worker, and to the church that meets
in your home, and to Apphia our sister, and to Archippus who, like myself, is a
soldier of the cross.
3 May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you his
blessings and his peace.
4 I always thank God when I am praying for you, dear Philemon,
5 because I keep hearing of your love and trust in the Lord Jesus and in
his people. 6 And I pray that as you share your faith with others it
will grip their lives too, as they see the wealth of good things in you that
come from Christ Jesus. 7 I myself have gained much joy and comfort
from your love, my brother, because your kindness has so often refreshed the
hearts of God’s people

Ef  5:Valossa vaeltaminen
8. Ennen te olitte pimeys,
mutta nyt
te olette valo Herrassa. Vaeltakaa
valon
lapsina, Joh. 12:36; Fil. 2:15
9. sillä valon hedelmä ilmenee
kaikenlaisena

hyvyytenä, vanhurskautena
ja totuutena.

Ephesians 5Amplified Bible
(AMP)
8 For once you were darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of
Light [live as those who are native-born to the Light] 9 (for the
fruit [the effect, the result] of the Light consists in all goodness and
righteousness and truth),

Ephesians 5Amplified Bible,
Classic Edition (AMPC)
5.8 For once you were darkness, but now you
are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those
native-born to the Light].9 For the fruit (the effect, the product)
of the Light or [
c]the Spirit
[consists] in every form of kindly
goodness, uprightness of heart, and trueness of life.

Ephesians 5The Message (MSG)Wake Up from Your Sleep
5 8-10 You groped your way through that
murk once, but no longer. You’re out in the open now. The bright light of
Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around. Get on with it! The
good, the right, the true—these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours.
Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it.

Ephesians 5Living Bible (TLB)
5 8 For though once your
heart was full of darkness, now it is full of light from the Lord, and your
behavior should show it! 9 Because of this light within you, you
should do only what is good and right and true.
