Apt 5:38 Nyt minä sanon teille: pysykää
erossa näistä miehistä ja antakaa heidän olla. Jos tämä hanke tai toiminta on
ihmisistä, se raukeaa tyhjiin, Sananl. 21:30
39mutta jos se on Jumalasta, te et te voi kukistaa heitä. Varokaa, ettei
teidän havaittaisi taistelevan Jumalaa vastaan.” Niin he myöntyivät hänen neu
voon sa.
40Kutsuttuaan apostolit sisään he pieksättivät heidät ja kielsivät heitä
puhumasta Jeesuksen nimessä mutta päästivät heidät vapaaksi.
41Silloin
apostolit lähtivät pois neuvostosta iloiten siitä, että heidät oli katsottu
arvollisiksi kärsimään häväistystä Jeesuksen nimen tähden. Matt.

42Eivätkä he lakanneet vaan opettivat joka päivä temppelissä ja kodeissa
ja julistivat evan- keliumia Kristuksesta Jeesuksesta.
Acts
5:38-42Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
38 Now in the present case let
me say to you, stand off (withdraw) from these men and let them alone. For if
this doctrine or purpose or undertaking or movement is of human
origin, it will fail (be overthrown and come to nothing);
39 But if it is of God, you
will not be able to stop or overthrow or destroy them; you might
even be found fighting against God!
40 So, convinced by him, they
took his advice; and summoning the apostles, they flogged them and sternly
forbade them to speak in or about the name of Jesus, and allowed them to
go.
41 So they went out from the
presence of the council (Sanhedrin), rejoicing that they were being counted
worthy [dignified by the indignity] to suffer shame and be exposed to
disgrace for [the sake of] His name.
42 Yet [in spite of the
threats] they never ceased for a single day, both in the temple area and at
home, to teach and to proclaim the good news (Gospel) of Jesus [as] the
Christ (the Messiah).
Acts 5:38-42New
International Version (NIV)
38 Therefore, in the present
case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or
activity is of human origin, it will fail. 39 But if it is from
God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves
fighting against God.”
40 His speech persuaded them.
They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to
speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 The apostles left the
Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace
for the Name. 42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from
house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that
Jesus is the Messiah.
