17.03.

Hoosea:14:1 Samaria joutuu syystänsä kärsimään, koska se on niskoitellut Jumalaansa vastaan: he kaatuvat miekkaan, heidän pienet lapsensa ruhjotaan, ja heidän raskaat vaimonsa halkaistaan.
14:2 Palaja, Israel, Herran, sinun Jumalasi, tykö, sillä sinä olet kompastunut rikoksiisi.
14:3 Ottakaa mukaanne sanoja ja palatkaa Herran tykö ja sanokaa hänelle: "Anna anteeksi kaikki rikokset, ota armoihisi, niin me tuomme sinulle uhrimulleiksi huultemme uhrit.
14:4 Assur ei ole meitä auttava, hevosilla emme tahdo ratsastaa, emmekä enää sano kättemme teoille: 'Meidän jumalamme'; sillä sinussa saa orpo armon."
14:5 Minä parannan teidän luopumuksenne, omasta halustani minä teitä rakastan; sillä minun vihani on kääntynyt hänestä pois.
Biblia (1776)

Ottakaat teillenne nämät sanat, ja kääntykäät Herran tykö, ja sanokaat hänelle:
anna meille kaikki synnit anteeksi, ja tee meille hyvin, niin me uhraamme
sinulle meidän huultemme mullit.
Englanti (KJV 1789)
(2) Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all
iniquity, and receive [us] graciously: so will we render the calves of our
lips.

Hosea AMP14 2 Take with you words
and return to the Lord. Say to Him, Take away all our iniquity; accept
what is good and receive us graciously; so will we render [our thanks]
as bullocks [to be sacrificed] and pay the confession of our lips.
3
Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses, neither will we
say any more to the work of our hands [idols], You are our gods. For in You [O
Lord] the fatherless find love, pity, and mercy.4 I will heal
their faithlessness; I will love them freely, for My anger is turned away from
[Israel].5 I will be like the dew and the night mist to
Israel; he shall grow and blossom like the lily and cast forth his roots
like [the sturdy evergreens of] Lebanon.

Hosea 14 MSG Come Back!
Return to Your God!
14 1-3 O Israel, come back! Return to your God!
You’re down but you’re not out.
Prepare your confession
and come back to God.
Pray to him, “Take away our sin,
accept our confession.
Receive as restitution
our repentant prayers.
Assyria won’t save us;
horses won’t get us where we want to go.
We’ll never again say ‘our god’
to something we’ve made or made up.
You’re our last hope. Is it not true
that in you the orphan finds mercy?”4-8 “I will heal their
waywardness.

I will love them lavishly. My anger is played out.
I will make a fresh start with Israel.
He’ll burst into bloom like a crocus in the spring.
He’ll put down deep oak tree roots,
he’ll become a forest of oaks!
He’ll become splendid—like a giant sequoia,
his fragrance like a grove of cedars!
Those who live near him will be blessed by him,
be blessed and prosper like golden grain.
Everyone will be talking about them,
spreading their fame as the vintage children of God.
Ephraim is finished with gods that are no-gods.
From now on I’m the one who answers and satisfies him.
I am like a luxuriant fruit tree.
Everything you need is to be found in me.”9 If you want to live well,
make sure you understand all of this.
If you know what’s good for you,
you’ll learn this inside and out.
God’s paths get you where you want
to go.
Right-living people walk them easily;
wrong-living people are always tripping and stumbling.

Hosea 14 TLB14 O Israel,
return to the Lord, your God, for you have been crushed by your sins. 2 Bring
your petition. Come to the Lord and say, “O Lord, take away our sins; be
gracious to us and receive us, and we will offer you the sacrifice of praise.
3
Assyria cannot save us, nor can our strength in battle; never again will
we call the idols we have made ‘our gods’; for in you alone, O Lord, the
fatherless find mercy.”
4 “Then I will cure you of idolatry and faithlessness, and my love
will know no bounds, for my anger will be forever gone! 5 I will
refresh Israel like the dew from heaven; she will blossom as the lily and root
deeply in the soil like cedars in Lebanon. 6 Her branches will
spread out as beautiful as olive trees, fragrant as the forests of Lebanon.
7
Her people will return from exile far away and rest beneath my shadow.
They will be a watered garden and blossom like grapes; they will be as fragrant
as the wines of Lebanon.
8 “O Ephraim! Stay away from idols! I am living and strong! I look
after you and care for you. I am like an evergreen tree, yielding my fruit to
you throughout the year. My mercies never fail.”
9 Whoever is wise, let him understand these things. Whoever is
intelligent, let him listen. For the paths of the Lord are true and right, and
good men walk along them.
But sinners trying them will fail.
