AMP Luuk 4: ¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the

has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the
blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden,
bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity],¹⁹ To proclaim the
accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day ^[l]when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound].²⁰ Then He rolled up the book and gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the
eyes of all in the synagogue were gazing [attentively] at Him.²¹ And
He began to speak to them: Today this Scripture has been fulfilled ^[m]while you are present and hearing.²² And all spoke
well of Him and marveled at the words of
grace that came forth from His mouth; and they said, Is not this Joseph’s ^[n]Son?

MSG Luuk 4: ^16-21 He came to Nazareth where he had been reared. As he
always did on the Sabbath, he went to the meeting place. When he stood up to
read, he was handed the scroll of the prophet Isaiah. Unrolling the scroll, he
found the place where it was written,God’s Spirit is on me;
he’s chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor,
Sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and
recovery of sight to the blind,
To set the burdened and battered free,
to announce, “This is God’s year to act!”He rolled up the
scroll, handed it back to the assistant, and sat down. Every eye in the place
was on him, intent. Then he started in, “You’ve just heard Scripture make
history. It came true just now in this place.”²² All who were there,
watching and listening, were surprised
at how well he spoke. But they also said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son, the one
we’ve known since he was a youngster?”

TLB Luuk 4: ¹⁶ When he came to the village
of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on Saturday,
and stood up to read the Scriptures. ¹⁷ The book of Isaiah the
prophet was handed to him, and he opened it to the place where it says:^18-19
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; he has appointed me to preach Good
News to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted and to announce that
captives shall be released and the blind shall see, that the downtrodden shall
be freed from their oppressors, and that God is ready to give blessings to all
who come to him.”^[b]20 He closed
the book and handed it back to the attendant and sat down, while everyone in the synagogue gazed at him intently. ²¹ Then he added, “These
Scriptures came true today!”²² All who were there spoke well of him and were amazed by the beautiful words that fell from his lips. “How can this be?” they asked.
“Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”
