Luuk 12:35
Olkoot teidän kupeenne vyötetyt ja lamppunne palamassa;
12:36 ja olkaa te niiden ihmisten kaltaiset, jotka herraansa odottavat, milloin
hän palajaa häistä, että he hänen tullessaan ja kolkuttaessaan heti avaisivat
hänelle.
12:37 Autuaat ne palvelijat, jotka heidän herransa tullessaan tapaa valvomasta!
Totisesti minä sanon teille: hän vyöttäytyy ja asettaa heidät aterioimaan ja
menee ja palvelee heitä.
12:38 Ja jos hän tulee toisella yövartiolla tai kolmannella ja havaitsee heidän
näin tekevän, niin autuaat ovat ne palvelijat.
12:39 Mutta se tietäkää: jos perheenisäntä tietäisi, millä hetkellä varas
tulee, hän ei sallisi taloonsa murtauduttavan.
12:40 Niin olkaa tekin valmiit, sillä sinä hetkenä, jona ette luule, Ihmisen
Poika tulee."

35 "Pitäkää vaatteenne vyötettyinä ja lamppunne palamassa. 36 Olkaa niin kuin palvelijat, jotka odottavat isäntäänsä häistä
valmiina heti avaamaan oven, kun hän tulee ja kolkuttaa. 37 Autuaita ne palvelijat, jotka heidän herransa palatessaan tapaa
valvomasta! Totisesti: hän vyöttäytyy, kutsuu heidät pöytään ja jää itse
palvelemaan heitä. 38
tapaa heidät näin valvomasta, tulipa hän ennen sydänyötä tai sen jälkeen!*
39 "Ymmärrättehän, että jos talon isäntä tietäisi, minä yön
tuntina varas tulee, hän ei antaisi murtautua taloonsa. 40 Olkaa tekin valmiit, sillä Ihmisen Poika tulee hetkellä, jota ette
aavista."

valvomasta! Totisesti: hän vyöttäytyy, kutsuu heidät pöytään ja jää itse
palvelemaan heitä. 38
tapaa heidät näin valvomasta, tulipa hän ennen sydänyötä tai sen jälkeen!*

tuntina varas tulee, hän ei antaisi murtautua taloonsa. 40 Olkaa tekin valmiit, sillä Ihmisen Poika tulee hetkellä, jota ette
aavista."
Luuk 12: 35 Keep your loins girded and your lamps burning,
36 And be like men who are waiting for their master to return home from
the marriage feast, so that when he returns from the wedding and comes and
knocks, they may open to him immediately.
37 Blessed
(happy, fortunate, and [l]to be envied) are those servants whom the master finds
awake and alert and watching when he comes. Truly I say to you,
he will gird himself and have them recline at table and will come and serve
them!
38 If he comes in the second watch (before midnight) or the third
watch (after midnight), and finds them so, blessed (happy, fortunate, and [m]to be envied) are those servants!
39 But of this be assured: if the householder had known at what time
the burglar was coming, he would have been awake and alert and
watching and would not have permitted his house to be dug through and
broken into.
40 You
also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour and a [n]moment when you do not anticipate it.
