13.07.2018 Kol 1:9, 2 Tess 1:11-12

Kol 1: 9 Sen tähden emme mekään siitä päivästä lähtien, jolloin saimme tästä kuulla, ole lakanneet rukoilemasta teidän puolestanne ja anomasta, että tulisitte täyteen hänen tahtonsa tuntemista kaikessa hengellisessä viisaudessa ja ymmärryksessä.  Room. 12:2; 1. Kor. 1:5; Ef. 1 :14–16

10.Rukoilemme, että vaeltaisitte Herran arvon mukaisesti ja hänelle kaikessa mieliksi ja että kantaisitte hedelmää kaikissa hyvissä teoissa ja kasvaisitte Jumalan tuntemisessa.  Joh. 15:16;

11. Vahvistakoon hän teitä kirkkautensa väkevyyden mukaisesti kaikella voimalla olemaan kaikessa kestäviä ja pitkämielisiä.  Ef. 3:16

12.Iloiten te silloin kiitätte Isää, joka on tehnyt teidät kelvollisiksi saamaan osuuden siitä perinnöstä, joka pyhillä on valkeudessa.  Ap. t. 26:18; Ef. 1:11,18; Kol. 2:7

9 For this reason, since the day we heard about it, we have not stopped praying for you, asking [specifically] that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [with insight into His purposes], and in understanding [of spiritual things],
10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts];

11 [we pray that you may be] strengthened and invigorated with all power, according to His glorious might, to attain every kind of endurance and patience with joy;

12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints (God’s people) in the Light.

9-12 Be assured that from the first day we heard of you, we haven’t stopped praying for you, asking God to give you wise minds and spirits attuned to his will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which God works. We pray that you’ll live well for the Master, making him proud of you as you work hard in his orchard. As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work. We pray that you’ll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul—not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.
