09.12. 2 Piet 1:1-8

2 Piet 1:1. Simon Pietari, Jeesuksen Kristuksen

palvelija ja apostoli, niille, jotka
ovat meidän Jumalamme ja Vapahtajamme
Jeesuksen Kristuksen vanhurskaudessa
saaneet yhtä kallisarvoisen
uskon kuin mekin. Room. 1:12
2. Lisääntyköön teille armo ja rauha Jumalan ja Jeesuksen, meidän Herramme,
tuntemisessa. 1. Piet. 1:2
Kutsuminen ja valinta

3. Hänen jumalallinen voimansa on lahjoittanut meille hänen tuntemisensa

Jeesuksen Kristuksen tuntemisessa. Tit. 3:14

 2 Peter 1:1-8Amplified Bible (AMP)
Growth in Christian Virtue
[a]
Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle (special
messenger, personally chosen representative) of Jesus Christ,
To those who have [
b]received and
possess [by God’s will] a precious faith
of the [c]
same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and
Savior, Jesus Christ:
Grace and peace [that
special sense of spiritual well-being]
be multiplied to you in the [true,
intimate] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
For His divine power has
bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life
and godliness
, through [
d]
true and personal knowledge of Him who called
us by His own glory and excellence.
For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and
magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape
from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire,
and become sharers of the divine nature.
For this very reason, applying your diligence [to the divine
promises, make every effort] in [exercising] your faith to, [
e]
develop moral excellence, and in moral excellence,
knowledge (insight, understanding),
and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your
self-control, steadfastness, and in your steadfastness, godliness,
and in your godliness, brotherly affection, and in your
brotherly affection, [develop Christian] love [that is, learn to unselfishly
seek the best for others and to do things for their benefit].
For as these qualities are yours and are increasing
[in you as you grow toward spiritual maturity], they will keep you from being
useless and unproductive in regard to the true knowledge and greater
understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 1Living Bible (TLB)
From: Simon Peter, a
servant and missionary of Jesus Christ. To: All of you who have our kind of faith. The faith I
speak of is the kind that Jesus Christ
our God and Savior gives to us.
How precious it is, and how just and good
he is to give this same faith to each of us.
Do you want more and
more of God’s kindness and peace? Then learn to know him better and better.
For as you know him better, he will give you, through his great power, everything you need for
living a truly good life:
he even shares his own glory and his own goodness with us!
And by that same mighty power he has given us all the other
rich and wonderful blessings he promised; for instance, the promise to save us from the lust and
rottenness all around us
, and to give us his own character. But
to obtain these gifts, you need more than faith;
you must also work hard to be good, and even that is not enough. For then you must
learn to know God better and discover
what he wants you to do.
Next,

learn to put aside your own desires so
that you will become patient and godly
,
gladly letting God have his way with
you.

This will make possible the next step, which is for you to enjoy other people and to like them, and finally you will
grow to love them deeply.
The more you go on in this way, the more you will grow strong
spiritually and become fruitful and useful to our Lord Jesus Christ.
But
anyone who fails to go after these additions to faith is blind indeed, or at
least very shortsighted and has forgotten that God delivered him from the old
life of sin so that now he can live a strong, good life for the Lord.
10 So, dear brothers, work
hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen, and
then you will never stumble or fall away
.
