”Tulkaa, selvittäkäämme miten asia on, sanoo Herra. – Vaikka teidän syntinne ovat verenpunaiset, ne tulevat val­keiksi kuin lumi. Vaikka ne ovat purppuranpunaiset, ne tulevat valkeiksi kuin puhdas villa.” Jes. 1:18
”Mutta minä, minä itse pyyhin pois sinun rikkomuksesi oman itseni tähden enkä muistele sinun syntejäsi.” Jes. 43:25

”Sillä minä annan anteeksi heidän rikoksensa enkä enää muista heidän syntejänsä.” Jer. 31:34

”Kristuksen veressä meillä on lunastus, rikkomustemme anteeksianto. Näin Jumala on antanut armonsa rikkau­den.” Ef. 1:7

Footnotes:Isaiah 1:18 There was a legend among the rabbis that on the Day of Atonement a scarlet woolen thread was tied to the door of the temple, and when the scapegoat reached the wilderness (Lev 16:10), if the sins of Israel were forgiven the thread would miraculously turn white.
