2 Sam 7:18. Silloin kuningas Daavid meni Herran  eteen, istuutui ja sanoi: ”Mikä minä olen, Herra, Herra, ja mikä on minun sukuni, että olet tuonut minut tähän asti? 1. Moos. 32:10

19. Mutta tämä on vielä pientä sinun silmissäsi, Herra, Herra, sillä sinä olet puhunut myös palvelijasi suvun kaukai­sesta tulevaisuudesta. Näin sinä olet puhunut ihmiselle, Herra, Herra.

20. Mitäpä Daavid enää sinulle pu­huisi? Sinähän tunnet palvelijasi, Her­ra, Herra. Ps. 139:1

21. Sanasi tähden ja oman mielesi mukaan sinä olet tehnyt kaikki nämä suuret teot saattaaksesi ne palvelijasi tietoon.

22. Sen tähden sinä, Herra, Herra, olet suuri. Kaiken sen mukaan, mitä olemme korvillamme kuulleet, ei ole sinun vertaistasi eikä muuta jumalaa kuin sinä. 5. Moos. 3:24,4:35,32:39; 1. Sam. 2:2; Jes. 44:5,45:21

David’s Prayer
¹⁸ Then King David went in and sat [in prayer] before the Lord, and said, “Who am I, O Lord ^[a]God, and what is my house (family), that You have brought me this far? ¹⁹ Yet this was very insignificant in Your eyes, O Lord God, for You have spoken also of Your servant’s house (royal dynasty) in the distant future. And this is the law and custom of man, O Lord God.
