Ps 54 Raamattu 1933/38 54 Veisuunjohtajalle; kielisoittimilla; Daavidin mietevirsi,2 kun siifiläiset tulivat ja sanoivat Saulille: "Daavid piileskelee meidän luonamme".3 Jumala, pelasta minut nimesi voimalla, aja minun asiani väkevyydelläsi. 4 Jumala, kuule minun rukoukseni, ota korviisi minun suuni sanat. 5 Sillä muukalaiset nousevat minua vastaan, ja väkivaltaiset väijyvät minun henkeäni, eivät he pidä Jumalaa silmäinsä edessä. Sela. 6 Katso, Jumala on minun auttajani, Herra on minun sieluni tuki.
Psalm 54
Amplified Bible
Prayer for Defense against Enemies.
To the Chief Musician; with stringed instruments. A skillful song, or a
didactic or reflective poem, of David, when the Ziphites went and told Saul,
“David is hiding among us.”
54 Save me, O God, by Your name;
And vindicate me by Your [wondrous] power.
2 Hear my prayer, O God;
Listen to the words of my mouth.
3 For strangers have risen against me
And violent men have sought my life;
They have not set God before them. Selah.
4 Behold, God is my helper and ally;
The Lord is the sustainer of my soul [my upholder].
5 He will pay back the evil to my enemies;
In Your faithfulness destroy them.
6 With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to You;
I will give thanks and praise Your name, O Lord, for it is good.
7 For He has rescued me from every trouble,
And my eye has looked with satisfaction (triumph) on my enemies.
Psalm 54 New Living Translation
Psalm 54
For the choir director: A psalm[a] of David, regarding the time the Ziphites
came and said to Saul, “We know where David is hiding.” To be accompanied by
stringed instruments.
1 Come with great power, O God, and rescue me!
Defend me with your might.
2 Listen to my prayer, O God.
Pay attention to my plea.
3 For strangers are attacking me;
violent people are trying to kill me.
They care nothing for God. Interlude
4 But God is my helper.
The Lord keeps me alive!
5 May the evil plans of my enemies be turned against them.
Do as you promised and put an end to them.
6 I will sacrifice a voluntary offering to you;
I will praise your name, O Lord,
for it is good.
7 For you have rescued me from my troubles
and helped me to triumph over my enemies.
