8:19 AMPC Thus says the Lord of hosts: The fast of the fourth month and the
fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh and the fast of the tenth, shall be
to the house of Judah times of joy and gladness and cheerful, appointed
seasons; therefore [in order that this may happen to you, as the condition of
fulfilling the promise] love truth and peace.
”This
is what the Lord Almighty says: “The fasts of the fourth, fifth, seventh and
tenth months will become joyful and glad occasions and happy festivals for
Judah. Therefore love truth and peace.””

of Jerusalem’s walls], the fast of the fifth [month to mourn the temple’s
destruction], the fast of the seventh [month to mourn Gedaliah’s

Jerusalem] will become times of joy and gladness and cheerful feasts for the
