Ilmestyskirja:
14:6
Ja minä näin lentävän keskitaivaalla erään toisen enkelin, jolla oli
iankaikkinen evankeliumi julistettavana maan päällä asuvaisille, kaikille
Jeesuksen uskon.

The Angel with the Gospel
6 Then I saw another angel flying in midheaven,
with an [a]eternal gospel to preach to the inhabitants of the
earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people; 7 and
he said with a loud voice, “Fear God [with awe and reverence], and give Him
glory [and honor and praise in worship], because the hour of His judgment has
come; [with all your heart] worship Him who created the heaven and the earth,
the sea and the springs of water.”
Doom for Proud Babylon
8 Then another angel, a second one, followed,
saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who has made all nations
drink the wine of the passion of her immorality [corrupting them with
idolatry].”
Doom for Worshipers of the Beast
9 Then another angel, a third one, followed
them, saying with a loud voice, “Whoever worships the beast and his image and
receives the mark [of the beast] on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he
too will [have to] drink of the wine of the wrath of God, [b]mixed undiluted into the cup of His anger; and he
will be tormented with fire and brimstone (flaming sulfur) in the presence of
the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb (Christ). 11 And
the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day
and night—those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the
mark of his name.” 12 Here is [encouragement for] the steadfast
endurance of the saints (God’s people), those who habitually keep God’s
commandments and their faith in Jesus.

Revelation 14:6 This term likely refers to the message of God’s
impending righteous judgment and a final call to repentance and faith in
the risen Lord.Revelation
14:10 In ancient
times it was customary to mix wine with an equal or larger quantity of water to
prevent intoxication at ordinary meals. Here, the mixing is ironic because the
“wine of the wrath” is to be consumed at full strength.Revelation 14:6-12Amplified Bible,
Classic Edition (AMPC)
6 Then I saw another angel flying in midair,
with an eternal Gospel (good news) to tell to the inhabitants of the earth, to
every race and tribe and language and people.
7 And he cried with a mighty voice, Revere God
and give Him glory (honor and praise in worship), for the hour of His judgment
has arrived. Fall down before Him; pay Him homage and adoration and
worship Him Who created heaven and earth, the sea and the springs (fountains)
of water.
8 Then another angel, a second, followed,
declaring, Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She who made all nations drink
of the [maddening] wine of her passionate unchastity [[a]idolatry].
9 Then another angel, a third, followed them,
saying with a mighty voice, Whoever pays homage to the beast and his statue and
permits the [beast’s] stamp (mark, inscription) to be put on his forehead or on
his hand,
10 He too shall [have to] drink of the wine of
God’s indignation and wrath, poured undiluted into the cup of His anger;
and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy
angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever
and ever; and they have no respite (no pause, no intermission, no rest, no
peace) day or night—these who pay homage to the beast and to his image and
whoever receives the stamp of his name upon him.
12 Here [comes in a call for] the steadfastness
of the saints [the patience, the endurance of the people of God], those who
[habitually] keep God’s commandments and [their] faith in Jesus.
Revelation 14:6-12The Message (MSG)
Voices from Heaven
6-7 I saw another Angel soaring in Middle-Heaven.
He had an Eternal Message to preach to all who were still on earth, every
nation and tribe, every tongue and people. He preached in a loud voice, “Fear
God and give him glory! His hour of judgment has come! Worship the Maker of
Heaven and earth, salt sea and fresh water!”
8 A second Angel followed, calling out, “Ruined,
ruined, Great Babylon ruined! She made all the nations drunk on the wine of her
whoring!”
9-11 A third Angel followed, shouting, warning, “If
anyone worships the Beast and its image and takes the mark on forehead or hand,
that person will drink the wine of God’s wrath, prepared unmixed in his chalice
of anger, and suffer torment from fire and brimstone in the presence of Holy
Angels, in the presence of the Lamb. Smoke from their torment will rise age
after age. No respite for those who worship the Beast and its image, who take
the mark of its name.”
12 Meanwhile, the saints stand passionately
patient, keeping God’s commands, staying faithful to Jesus.
Revelation 14:6-12Living Bible
(TLB)
6 And I saw another angel flying through the
heavens, carrying the everlasting Good News to preach to those on earth—to
every nation, tribe, language, and people.
7 “Fear God,” he shouted, “and extol his
greatness. For the time has come when he will sit as Judge. Worship him who
made the heaven and the earth, the sea and all its sources.”
8 Then another angel followed him through the
skies, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen—that great city—because she
seduced the nations of the world and made them share the wine of her intense
impurity and sin.”
9 Then a third angel followed them shouting,
“Anyone worshiping the Creature from the sea[a] and his statue, and accepting his mark on the
forehead or the hand 10 must drink the wine of the anger of
God; it is poured out undiluted into God’s cup of wrath. And they will be
tormented with fire and burning sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and
the Lamb. 11 The smoke of their torture rises forever and ever,
and they will have no relief day or night, for they have worshiped the Creature
and his statue, and have been tattooed with the code of his name. 12 Let
this encourage God’s people to endure patiently every trial and persecution,
for they are his saints who remain firm to the end in obedience to his commands
and trust in Jesus.”
